Jude had a great month.
He’s adjusted so well to school. We haven’t had any battles with him about going. He especially loves going on field trips.
His last one they went to a paper museum and got to make paper!
He was so proud of his work.
He bring home a lot of painting and crafts. It’s great that he is getting to do so many different things.
One of my favs is this Mother’s Day bouquet.
School has really been the right thing at the right time for him. We’ve seen a big change in him doing things on his own. He can put his shoes on and off, wash his own hands, go potty by himself and pull up his pants after. All things were were having to help him with before.
Another new thing I noticed this month is that Jude has gotten really good at lying. If he pushes Toby over and I ask him what happened he will tell me Toby fell. My jaw dropped the first time he told me a fib, we have entered new parenting territory.
I break up a lot of fights between these two. They usually start out playing nicely but within 5 minutes I hear Toby cry.
Jude usually doesn’t hurt Toby but he can make him feel scared by being too aggressive when they play. Toby usually then lashes out by hitting Jude. Somedays it feels like I am just rotating them in and out of time-out.
Going outside is usually the best way to keep them from fighting.
Jude made me laugh the other day as when we arrived at the playground he hesitated by my side (which is unusual). I asked him what was wrong and he said, ‘I’m just a little bit shy right now.’.
He’s gotten so good at expressing his feelings or needs to us. He tells us when he’s hungry, full, tired or bored.
He also made me laugh when we walked into the lobby of our building and he saw a guy standing up on the top step of a ladder working on the ceiling. Jude turned to me and said, ‘that’s very dangerous’.
Jude is so into birthdays. He asks me almost everyday when his birthday is. So thankfully, we had Dad’s birthday to celebrate this month.
Candles have to be blown out at every meal.
Jude and Toby got to do a modeling gig together. The best and biggest smiles from Toby happened when Jude was at his side.
Jude is so awesome at modeling.
Towards the end of the shoot they handed him a giant ice cream cone to pose with with. Toby had finished his outfits but wanted to get back in.
Jude always keeps us on our toes. We have so many battles of wills throughout the day with him but then he can be so sweet, affectionate and super helpful. I think its all pretty typical 3 year old stuff!
