I think Luke and I would be happy to freeze time and forever keep Jude this age.
He is so much fun.
His talking has taken off – he’s mastering new words and phrases everyday. We crack up every time he goes on one of his long explanations about something random in his native toddler tongue.
We’ve also entered the age of ‘no’. He will say it over and over with conviction if he really doesn’t want to do something. But there are still times he will mix it up with ‘yes’!
Jude is so into everything – always keen to learn how to do something new.
He’s a lot of fun to do things with and is getting better at walking longer distances.
Toby and Jude had a great month together.
He is finally used to Toby being apart of our everyday routine.
The three of us go out everyday to a playground. Toby loves watching Jude run around.
If Toby is grumpy Jude and I will try our hardest to cheer him up. One day Toby exploded into laughter watching Jude run across the room and jump on me over and over.
Another big change that has helped immensely has been that Jude is now happy to play by himself.
He will go over to his toys and initiate play. He can now build with legos and put train tracks together.
I would say 90% of the day he has a train or a toy car in his hand driving it over the furniture. He sometimes even sneaks them into his crib.
Jude has a great little group of friends who we play with throughout the week.
They know each others names and love to hug!
They have so much fun together. It’s great to watch.
We celebrated my 31st birthday this month. We spent the day at various playgrounds running around.
Later in the day we had cake, but had to wait for Dad to come home before we could eat it.
It was a long, hard wait for this guy. He was crying and saying ‘cake’ over and over in the sadest way. I caved and ended up cutting it before Luke arrived.
Jude’s hair grows like weeds and since our last horrible haircut experience I’ve been avoiding the next. He woke up from nap one afternoon and I decided it was time…
It was just as bad as the last time!
But his tears quickly disappeared after when they handed him this awesome green car.
There are so many ups and downs in a toddler’s day. We have a lot of battles but far more laughter.
Happy 21 months, Jude!
