Luke and Jude went out for a walk on Valentine’s Day and brought these back:
It was obviously Jude’s idea so naturally I let him have the first cupcake. He loved it! Instant sugar-high.
So after we set him loose on the vacuum (still his #1 current obsession)
He spends a lot of waking hours crawling around pushing the vacuum:
Other stuff we’ve been up to has been in the kitchen. Natalie got me this rad new Cuisinart mixer for my Bday and Elizabeth got me a steamed pudding container so I decided to try out both.
After mixing, I put the lid on,
and let it steam away for an hour and a half.
Jude patiently hung out in the kitchen playing while I baked.
And his patience was rewarded:
Later in the week I made Brazilian Cheese Bread. It was delicious – hot and gooey. These were made possible thanks to a friend of ours dropping off the key ingredient – tapioca flour.
The same friend also dropped off two new shirts for Jude – a polo tee and a long sleeve shirt with a bow tie. Here he is in the adorable polo:
It’s been really cold lately but the other day the sun came out and the temperature spiked.
It was a good thing as Jude and I had some business to take care of.
I bought his first car (second hand on-line) so we went to pick it up.
It also turns into a walker – pretty cool!
We stuck around Taipei for Chinese New Year this year.
We kicked off New Years with a hotpot lunch at our Taiwanese friend’s home.
Jude munched on tofu and enjoyed crawling around checking out all the different people.
The next day we went to a BBQ at our NZ friend’s house. There were two other babies to keep Jude busy.
The rest of the week we spent doing more eating (homemade pizza, yum yum),
Cleaning up around the house (thanks to the cats…),
A bit of window shopping (I really love the cat ones!),
Playing at home,
And getting out and exploring Taipei. We went to a temple,
And to the Gongguan Water Museum.
In the spirit of all things new, Jude tried curry for the first time and was a fan.
We also spent a lot of time working on him being gentle to Fern. Him holding a cat toy actually stops him from clobbering her!
Luke and I also finished watching all of Breaking Bad (insanely good) and started House of Cards (so far also excellent)!
